Most gamers used Wine or a windows system emulator to play games on Linux. PlayOnLinux is a tool to help Linux users install & run Windows games and programs onto Linux, via the use of Wine.

Steam is a game delivery platform made by Valve for Windows, Mac & Linux systems. Steam store has over 300 Linux games, over 500 when including expansions & mods.


Desura is a game delivery platform made by ModDB for Windows, Mac & Linux systems. Desura focuses on Indie & open source games.


Lutris is a game delivery platform made for Linux only. It also allows installation of games from other systems through emulation.
